Those are some pretty good awards, Brando.

P.S. Have I ever mentioned that F-Book is a tool of Satan?

True, but so is rock and roll.

And adhesive-backed stamps.

I couldn't believe the reaction of the people to that Budweiser commercial at the SB party I attended. Everybody seemed to think it was heartwarming.

All I could think was that he must have needed a stepladder.

Maybe I've been hanging around here too much.

TLB and I had the same reaction, but then again, she hangs around this blog in person 24/7.

It reminded me of a line I occasionally use from the otherwise forgettable The Truth About Cats and Dogs: "It's okay to love your pets, just don't LOOOOVE your pets."

Then again, I also was making the comment, "But the farmer couldn't keep production high and prices low, so God created agribusiness to fist the farmer" during the Paul Harvey Chevy commercial that had Facebook weeping.

yeah. That Paul Harvey crap was a masterpiece of Mad Men. Wife Sublime comes from a farming family, and while everybody else was tearing up, I wanted to yell "BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT OH SO MUCH BULLSHIT!" There aren't any farmers like that anymore. even when there were farmers like that, there weren't farmers like that. You would think Wisconsinites wouldn't fall for it, but you'd be wrong. Even the farmers fall for it, it makes them feel noble.

People need myths to live up to. Maybe I shouldn't have gone for Revenge of the Nerds.
