Joe Strummer and Mick Jones tweeked my little high school brain out of its goofy metal vibe and into a whole new future of music.

Anything from London Calling makes my day.

I've been reliving my Bad Brains days too. The new album is actually a respectable return to form, although nothing is as bracing as Pay To Cum

Sally Timms from the Mekons has an EP out called Cowboy Sally where she does a superb job of covering "The Long Black Veil", even challenging Johnny IMHO. Also a fine cover of The Handsome Family's "Drunk By Noon". Highly, highly recommended, if you can find it.

Never been able to develop any appreciation for the Black Crowes. He not only irritates me as a person, but also as a singer. I left one of their shows so I could see Black 47 down at the other end of the festival; decisions had to be made.zombie rotten mcdonaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10601960953323752278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12562069.post-71498467227220673492007-08-18T17:19:00.000-05:002007-08-18T17:19:00.000-05:00That Black Crowes tune is one of my all-time favor...That Black Crowes tune is one of my all-time favorites, too -- a beautiful slow groove with great dynamics.

I agree, the whole album is underrated.bjkeefehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10967912817595826059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12562069.post-46742487540812080602007-08-18T11:49:00.000-05:002007-08-18T11:49:00.000-05:00There really wasn't much cheese on this one.
